India vs New Zealand Highlights, 2nd Test Day 1: It was an exciting day of cricket for IND as Washington Sundar shone with a seven-wicket haul.

India vs New Zealand Highlights, 2nd Test Day 1: India posted 16/1 at Stumps on Day 1 and trail by 243 runs against New Zealand in their ongoing second Test match, in Pune on Thursday. Yashasvi Jaiswal (6*) and Shubman Gill (10*) remained unbeaten for India, who reached 16/1 in 11 overs at Stumps. Rohit Sharma was the wicket lost, departing for a nine-ball duck. Initially, New Zealand were bundled out for 259 in 79.1 overs. Washington Sundar justified his selection with a seven-wicket haul, and was in sensational form. New Zealand were doing farely well on Day 1 and even looked set to dominate the second session until Sundar put a break on their progress. Sundar became the first bowler to dismiss Rachin Ravindra in this series and then got Tom Blundell out off the last ball of the second session. He then got the wicket of Daryl Mitchell in his first over after Tea. His other dismissals included Glenn Phillips (9), Mitchell Santner (33), Tim Southee (5), Ajaz Patel (4).

Sundar dismissed Ravindra on 65 off 105 in the second session with an unplayable delivery right after Rohit Sharma brought him back on. Devon Conway and Ravindra were looking rather untroubled for the first half an hour of the second session. This continued for a few minutes after that period as well, but Conway ended up being dismissed by Ashwin off a rather innocuous delivery. He had scored 76 runs in 141 balls. Ravindra and Mitchell then put up a stand of 59 for the fourth wicket, with the former going past 50 for a second consecutive Test in this series. The Kiwis were able to run singles at least with with India continuing to with defensive fields.

Conway went past his half-century with a four off the very first ball of the session bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer bowled four overs at the start of the session, with Washington Sundar sending them in from the other, before Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Ashwin. Ashwin earlier picked two wickets in a first session at the end of which New Zealand may have been happier of the two sides on Day 1 of the second Test in Pune. New Zealand were 92/2 in 31 overs at the 92/2 in 31 overs at Lunch, with Conway on 47 off 108 balls. Ravindra on five off 13 balls.

Ashwin got the breakthrough in his very first over of the second Test between India and New Zealand in Pune match after visiting captain Tom Latham and Devon Conway got the visitors off to a rather breezy start. Latham fell LBW fifth ball of the eighth over with Ashwin bowling the first over of spin. Latham earlier won the toss and chose to bat first. India, who suffered a rare defeat at home in the first Test, have made as many as three changes. Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Akash Deep have been included while KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj have been dropped.
